In South Greenland lies the small municipality of Narsarsuaq – meaning ‚large plain‘ in Greenlandic.  Narsarsuaq was the principal ‚city‘ of Greenland in the times of Erik the Red and his viking settlers, and traces of early Norse settlement can be found west of the town.
Deep blue fjords filled with colourful icebergs contrast the fertile and green mountain slopes, and the massive Greenland Ice Sheet is within walking distance. Active glaciers, historical sites from the Viking Age, colourful cozy settlements and towns – all within easy reach.
The location‘s fascinating geography and history make it definitely worth a visit.
